Introducing Muhaffiz Mokrat from Kelantan!
What's the story behind your artwork?
This design is inspired by the concept of People's Rhythm in Kelantan, capturing the cultural flow and daily life of the local community. It reflects my parents' origin, one from the upstream and one from the downstream, symbolising the meeting of two different yet connected worlds. Traditional Kelantanese elements such as perahu kolek, kertok, and wau are featured as key visual motifs. These are arranged in a pattern inspired by the decorative side panels of the perahu kolek. The design merges movement, tradition and heritage into a personal expression that celebrates both cultural identity and family roots.
