What's the story behind your artwork?
What makes my state special? It isn’t the place, the buildings or even the food. It’s the people, from the traders and migrants, from the colonialists - the Portuguese, the Dutch, the English - its the people who came and stayed in the state making it richer, more distinctive and ever more vibrant. With my illustration I hope to bring them to life with their distinctive costumes that they brought with them - and how they added the local traditions and cultures to their own.
